Haiti Earthquake 2-Year Update January-3-2012
Shifting the focus from relief to recovery, the American Red Cross has been helping to rebuild what the Haiti earthquake destroyed.  The Red Cross is working with local communities to make them safer and healthier.  A total of 3.2 million people have been reached by the Red Cross thanks to generous donors, dedicated volunteers and strong partners.  To date, the American Red Cross has received $486 million in donations and has spent and signed agreements to spend $330 million on Haiti earthquake relief and recovery efforts.  The balance will be spent in the coming years on further recovery efforts.  For a full report on the 2-year progress of the Haiti Earthquake Response, click here.   For further information, you can visit www.redcross.org or call the local Monroe County chapter at 734/289-1481.
